GAIL (India) Limited is the largest state-owned natural gas processing and distribution company headquartered in New Delhi, India. It has following business segments: Natural Gas, Liquid Hydrocarbon, Liquefied petroleum gas Transmission, Petrochemical, City Gas Distribution, Exploration and Production, GAILTEL and Electricity Generation. GAIL has been conferred with the MaharatnaMaharatna status on 1 Feb 2013, by the Government of India. GAIL (India) Limited was incorporated in August 1984 as a Central Public Sector Undertaking (PSU) under the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas (MoP&NG). The company was previously known as Gas Authority of India Limited. It is India's principal Gas transmission and marketing company. The company was initially given the responsibility of construction, operation & maintenance of the Hazira – Vijaypur – Jagdishpur (HVJ) pipeline Project.

BHEL was established in 1964, ushering in the indigenous Heavy Electrical Equipment industry in India. Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited (MRPL), is an oil refinery at Mangalore and is a subsidiary of ONGC, set up in 1993. The refinery is located at Katipalla, north from centre of Mangalore city. The refinery was established after displacing five villages of Bala, Kalavar, Kuthetoor, Katipalla, and Adyapadi.
The refinery has a versatile design with high flexibility to process crudes of various API gravity and with high degree of automation. MRPL has a design capacity to process 9.69 million metric tonnes per annum and is the only refinery in India to have two hydrocrackers producing premium diesel (high cetane). It is also the only refinery in India to have two CCRs producing unleaded petrol of high octane. Currently, the refinery is processing about 12.5 million tonnes of crude per year and had a turnover of US$8 billion during last year.
