Profile
The chief banker of the world's third largest economy ($5.9 trillion
GDP) was hired in March 2013 after serving as president of the Asian
Development Bank for eight years. Kuroda is critical to Japanese Prime
Minister Shinzo Abee's new leadership team. The new governor's first
order of business is stimulus: two percent inflation target in two
years. The BOJ has pledged to inject about 60 to 70 trillion yen ($600 to $700 billion) into the economy annually.
