Amazon.com Inc will spend an extra USD 2 billion in India as the e-commerce huge ramps up business in the country, the company said on Wednesday, a day later than local opponent Flipkart announced a bright round of backing merit USD 1 billion.
"With this supplementary speculation of USD 2 billion, our team can go on to think big, innovate, and lift the bar for clientele in India. At present level and increase rates, India is on pathway to be our best ever country ever to a billion dollars in gross sales," Chief Executive Jeff Bezos said in a report.
Amazon`s Indian unit said previous it will open five new warehouses in the country, which will approximately dual its cargo space aptitude to semi a million cube feet -- all steps to help the company increase a better toehold in India`s increasing e-commerce production
